Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 21 July 2026
These terms govern use of the Schome platform, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. By signing in you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Schome records school attendance and, on plans that include it, reports a student’s presence and location to their school and linked guardian. Features available to you depend on the plan your school has subscribed to and on the plan attached to an individual student.
2. Accounts
Accounts are issued by your school, not created by you. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Tell your school immediately if you believe someone else has access.
Staff and parent accounts see different data. Attempting to reach records outside your role or your own children is a misuse of the service.
3. Safety features are an aid, not a guarantee
This section matters more than any other. Emergency alerts, live tracking and geo-fence notifications depend on hardware, battery, mobile network coverage, GPS accuracy, third-party notification delivery and correct configuration. Any of these can fail or be delayed.
Do not rely on Schome as your only means of knowing that a child is safe, and never rely on it in place of contacting the school or the emergency services. An SOS raised in the app is not a call to emergency services.
4. Devices
ID cards, beacons and wearable devices remain the property of [OWNER] unless your agreement says otherwise. You agree to take reasonable care of issued hardware and to report loss promptly, since a lost card can produce misleading attendance and location records.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the service unlawfully; do not attempt to gain access to another school’s or family’s data; do not interfere with its operation or security; and do not upload content that is unlawful, harmful or infringing. Content you submit — messages, homework, diary entries, attachments — remains visible to the school and may be retained in its records.
6. Assisted composition
Where staff use the assisted message composer, the draft text is sent to a third-party AI service to produce a suggestion. Suggestions may be inaccurate; the sender remains responsible for anything they send.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we may change or withdraw features. Planned maintenance may cause downtime.
8. Fees
Subscriptions and plan tiers are agreed between the school and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. Parents do not pay us directly unless your school tells you otherwise.
9. Suspension and termination
Your school may withdraw your access at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or that put the safety or security of the service or its users at risk.
10. Liability
[LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED] — limitation of liability, warranty disclaimers and indemnities must be drafted by counsel, in light of the safety-critical nature of the alerting features described in section 3.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [VENUE] have exclusive jurisdiction.
12. Contact
[LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [POSTAL ADDRESS] — [CONTACT EMAIL].
